Fear or Faith?...

There’s an old story about a Cherokee elder and his grandson. He told his grandson all humans have an inner battle between two wolves: Fear and Faith. The grandson listened and sat quietly for a few moments, thinking. Then he asked the old man, “Which wolf wins?” His grandfather replied, “The one you feed.”

The one you feed. Fear brings with it anxiety, uncertainty, hesitancy. It leads to inaction and indecision. Faith, on the other hand, leads to confidence, enthusiasm, and action. How often do we feed the wrong wolf?

FEAR: False Evidence Appearing Real

One way to banish fear is to praise God and thank him, which also happens to be the title of bestselling author Jeff Cavin’s book, Praise God and Thank Him, published by Servant. It’s a perfect read for November, with Thanksgiving right around the corner, too. And it’s just one example of why I’m grateful to be part of Franciscan Media, with so many resources for feeding faith and starving fear. If you haven’t done so recently, visit out catalog to see the latest books and audios. It’s quite a feast!

"And now let us begin this journey, the Bishop and people, this journey of the Church of Rome, which presides in charity over all the Churches, a journey of brotherhood in love, of mutual trust. Let us always pray for one another. Let us pray for the whole world that there might be a great sense of brotherhood.

I will now give my blessing to you and to the whole world, to all men and women of good will."

-Papa Francis quote

He does not know you, yet he prays for you.
He will most likely never meet you, yet he loves you.

This is your chance to show your love, for as the Bible teaches, "Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven."
