Focus on Faith...

I think it’s imperative that we continually educate ourselves about what the church teaches and what God’s will is in our lives. We can’t do that very effectively if we don’t ever take the time to stop and listen. I believe that one of the best ways for a person to enrich his or her faith life is through some type of mission or retreat experience.

Praying every day is an excellent way to stay connected to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, but taking an entire day or weekend or even a week to get away specifically to take stock of where your faith life is heading or not heading can be life-changing.

It’s been several years since my husband and I took time away from our jobs, our kids and our everyday responsibilities to just sit and talk for an extended period of time about our spiritual health. With all the distractions around us it’s really hard to make the time. But I truly believe we’ll be better off for it if we do.

So today I’d like to challenge you to find a place to go, set aside a time and spend it with God and your spouse or a friend or go somewhere by yourself. The key is to get away from the everyday demands of life and let God do something extraordinary in your heart.

"And now let us begin this journey, the Bishop and people, this journey of the Church of Rome, which presides in charity over all the Churches, a journey of brotherhood in love, of mutual trust. Let us always pray for one another. Let us pray for the whole world that there might be a great sense of brotherhood.

I will now give my blessing to you and to the whole world, to all men and women of good will."

-Papa Francis quote

He does not know you, yet he prays for you.
He will most likely never meet you, yet he loves you.

This is your chance to show your love, for as the Bible teaches, "Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven."
